Betty Jo Barker (Tulia)

Graveside services for Betty Jo Barker, 79, of Tulia will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mrs. Barker passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 in Plainview. She was born on September 18, 1925 in Swisher County, Texas. She was raised in the Love Community and attended schools there and later graduated from Tulia High School. She married B.K. Barker, Jr. on July 20, 1967 in Tulia. He passed away on January 11, 1989. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tulia. She is survived by two sisters: Virginia Sprawls of Tulia and Bernice Evans of Lubbock; a half-sister: Gloria Beth Madden of West Monroe, Louisiana; eight nieces and nephews: Marcia Ellis, Janie Howell, Tommy Love, Linda Wright, Karen Duvall, Barbara Hale, Larry Pyeatt, and Volney Sprawls, Jr. Preceded in death by her husband, one sister, Gladys Pyeatt, and a brother, Hayden Love.
