Billy Ray Cate (Plainview)

Billy Ray Cate, 79, of Plainview, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Kornerstone Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joseph Johnson officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Billy was born on October 4, 1934 to George & Millie Cate in Abernathy, TX. He served in the U.S. Army and was a welder. He is preceded in death by one son, Danny Cate; and four siblings, Alvie Jones, Vita Sherrill, Charlotte Martin, and Bessie Cate. He is survived by two sons, Darrell Ray Cate and Kenneth Lee Cate both of Lubbock, TX; four brothers, James, Charles and Freddy Cate of Plainview, TX, and Joe Cate of Lubbock, TX; two sisters, Thelma Rowlette of Amarillo, TX and Nancy Greer of Plainview, TX; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
