Mary Tucker(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Mary Katherine (Muncy) Tucker, 86, passed from this life into her reward in the Presence of the Lord on August 6, 2015 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 10, 2015 in the Central Church of Christ with Mr. Tim Johnson and Mr. Trey Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mary was born on August 23, 1928 in Canadian, Texas to Alonzo (Preacher) and Lillie Muncy. She was married to Dan Walters Tucker on June 14, 1946 and was a faithful and loving wife for 57 years until Dan’s passing in July, 2003. Mary’s life was one of a faithful servant to her God; full of light, love and grace. She was a longtime, faithful servant at the Central Church of Christ in Tulia, TX. She had a tremendous love for her family and was known for her gracious hospitality to all who entered her home. Her servant heart was often on display in the way she was a caretaker for anyone who was in need. Mary had a passion for A Capella music and was a long-time member of His Image Singers. Her ministry through song as a part of His Image Singers has reached around the globe and continues to bless many even today. Mary worked in the family bowling business for many years and traveled the globe with her husband Dan on many of his business trip adventures. She operated the Tulia Bowl for a time, was active in bowling leagues, and often represented Tulia Bowl in state bowling tournaments. Mary loved to play bridge and was active in bridge club. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Dan and son David Tucker. She is survived by son; Danny Tucker and wife Miko of Tulia, daughter; Dianne Crowley and husband Jerry of Lubbock, son; Daryl Tucker and wife Becky of Tulia. Mary is also survived by a grandson she raised as her own Greg Tucker and wife Kristi of Amarillo, one brother; Elbert W. “Sonny” Muncy of Boulder City, Nevada, 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, her “very best friend” Mary (Stark) Henry and many others who considered her to be “grandmother”.
