Lois Lavern Abbott (Plainview)

Lois Lavern Abbott, 74, of Plainview passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Monday at the funeral home. Lois was born on September 8, 1941 in Valley View, Texas to Fred & Sylvia Cookston. She married Earnest Abbott on October 9, 1954 in Sayre, Oklahoma. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband: Earnest Abbott of Plainview; two daughters: Carletta York & husband Alan of Sayre, OK and Kelli Hendel of Adrian, MN; one son: Randy Abbott & wife Donna of Plainview; one brother: Bill Cookston & wife Rozlyn of Plainview; one sister: Gladys Shook & husband Howard of Plainview; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Wayne Cookston and one sister, Dorothy Richardson.
