Adam Gonzales (Tulia)

Adam Gonzales, 83, of Tulia passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Adam was born on November 26, 1940, at the Lyndon B Johnson Ranch in Johnson City, Texas to Antonio and Petra (Romero) Gonzales.

Throughout his lifetime, Adam worked diligently across Texas in various fields, including farming, construction, and roofing, leaving a lasting impact on those around him. A sociable individual, he had a talent for striking up conversations with anyone, never failing to make them feel welcome and valued. He married Yvonne Aplin on June 3, 1994 in Tulia. Adam's love for his community was evident in his willingness to engage with people from all walks of life, always ready for a chat over a cup of coffee and a smoke.

Adam cherished his dogs, Juno and Stormy, as beloved companions who brought him joy and companionship over the years. Adam led a fulfilling life, touching the hearts of all those he encountered with his warmth and hospitality. In the peaceful moments of his passing, Yvonne, his beloved departed, quietly reached out for his hand, ushering him toward the serenity of Heaven.

Adam Gonzales is survived by his daughter, Teresa Earlene Friend and husband Peter of Grain Valley, Missouri, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and camaraderie, his brother, Edward Gonzales and wife Ilda of San Angelo, his grandchildren, Bryan Friend, Kenneth Braden, Nacoal Friend, Matthew Braden and Noah Friend, eight, great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren, 19 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his siblings, Elizabeth (Alberto) Alverado, Tomasita (Juan) Huerta and Olivia (Roberto) Resendiz.
