Alfredo T. Garcia, Sr. (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Alfredo T. Garcia, Sr., 79, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Alfredo was born on August 11, 1943, in Yancey, Texas to Francisco and Abelina Garcia. He lived in Yancey until the age of five when he moved to Edmonson with his family. He attended Edmonson schools. He started farming at the age of 15. Later his whole family moved to Tulia. He continued framing here in Tulia. He married Ophelia Maria Luera on December 30, 1960, in Tulia. He retired from Farming in 2012. He also owned a truck and did seasonal harvesting.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Francisco and Abelina Garcia, three children: Delia Garcia, Deanne Garcia, and Randolph Garcia, two sisters: Consuelo Ramirez and Sarapia Rodriguez.

He is survived by his wife: Ophelia Garcia, one daughter: Tina Marie Moreno and husband Sesar of Tulia, one son: Alfredo Garcia, Jr. of Tulia, two brothers: Francisco Garcia, Jr. of Kress, Jose Maria Garcia of Amarillo, two sisters: Josefa Gonzales of Tulia and Olivia Chapa of Plainview, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
