Alicia Saldana (Tulia)

Alicia Saldana, 84, of Tulia passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 16, 2026 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 15, 2026 in the Kornerstone Chapel.

Alicia was born in Ballenger, Texas, on November 12, 1941 to Jesse and Elouisa Gomez. She spent many years working alongside her father in the cotton fields around Tulia and Nazareth for many years. She married Fabian Saldana Sr. and devoted her life to her family and home.

Alicia was an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and delighted in the excitement of game days. She found joy in playing bingo, especially the traditional Mexican lotteria, and loved spending time at the casinos. In her leisure, Alicia enjoyed cruising around town, watching her grandchildren play, and indulging in her passion for sweets, particularly pan dulce.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Elouisa Gomez; her husband, Fabian Saldana; her sons, Fabian Jr. Saldana, Ernest Saldana and Oscar Saldana; three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her children, Cruselda S. Evans, Rose Mary S. Hernandez and husband Rene, Valerie S. Luna and husband Tony, Anna M. Saldana, Lesbia Saldana and husband Henry Basaldua, and Edward Saldana; three sisters, Bessie Vargas, Dolores Turner and Lonnie, Loferia Glavan and husband Jesse, Pauline Galvan and husband Emilio; her brother, David Gomez and wife Maria; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
