Our loving mother, Anna Ann Tilson Robertson completed her course of life on this earth on August 27, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. A Memorial Service is pending.
Anna Ann was born February 2, 1930, to William Henderson and Winnie Davis Tilson growing up on the farm her Grandparents settled 1902. She attended Bellview School and graduated from Plainview High in 1943. Anna Ann married Jack Walker Robertson, April 16 1948 and worked together on their family's farms while raising four children. Early on, she could be found driving a tractor, baking, reading stories to her children, or finding necessary items to complete a homework assignment. Her constant encouragement, guidance, and support provided the foundation of her children’s lives. Anna Ann supported children’s education serving as an officer in the PTA and providing leadership in 4-H classes. Anna Ann blessed the community of Plainview throughout her life. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and worked with various mission projects, served as an officer on church committees, the United Methodist Women’s group and coordinated countless funeral meals for bereaved families. She was an active leader and member of the Home Demonstration Club and named Extension Homemaker Woman of the Year in 1983. Anna Ann was recognized as RSVP volunteer of the year in 2003. Her service as a teacher’s aide at College Hill Elementary brought her great joy, working with children to encourage them as if they were her own. Anna Ann always found time to prepare food for friends recovering from illness (her banana bread was a favorite), drive folks to doctor’s appointments, visit those who needed a caring presence, and oversee projects big and small. Anna Ann took great pride in her children who likewise chose to work for the good of others.
Anna Ann Robertson is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Walker Robertson, their infant daughter, Linda Suzanne, her brother Robert Lee Tilson, and her parents, W. H. and Winnie Tilson,
Anna Ann is survived by her four children: Dr. Donald J. Robertson (Barbara), Peggy Hughes (Mike), Rev. Dixie Robertson (Jim Rennier), and Jimmy Robertson; three grandchildren, Claire Johnson (Alex), and Ashley Hughes, and three great grandchildren, Hailyn, Jack, and James.
