Aurelia Catherine Acker Schoenenberger (Tulia)

Aurelia Catherine Acker Schoenenberger, 91, passed to eternity on May 20, 2025. She was born on December 18, 1933 to Andrew and Katherine Acker. Aurelia was the 9th of 13 children. Born just before Christmas during the Great Depression, she was the baby doll that her older sisters got for Christmas that year. She learned an incredible work ethic from her parents and developed a deep faith through her Catholic childhood. She graduated top of her Class of 1952 prior to her marriage to Albert N. Schoenenberger on June 9, 1953. 

They brought three children into their family; Anita Allen (Dave) of San Angelo, Albert Marvin (Margaret) of Hereford, and Michael (Lissa) of Happy. Aurelia tended the household and helped Al on their farm near Arney until his death in 1987. She then worked the farm herself with help from Michael until 2020 when health issues forced her to move to town. She was a faithful, long-time member of The Confraternity of Christian Mothers of Nazareth and the Universal Living Rosary Association. In addition to her devoted prayer life, she sang in the choir and played the organ for the Holy Family Catholic Church of Nazareth and taught catechism throughout the years. 

She is survived by her children, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and one brother, Gerald “Jerry” Acker (Judy) of Nazareth.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, May 26, 2025 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia, Texas with Rev. Peter Katzaroff officiating. Burial will follow directly at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Nazareth, Texas.

A rosary will be held at 6:00 PM, Sunday, May 25, 2025 in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth, Texas.
