Beverly was born on August 7, 1932 in Los Angeles, CA to Oscar Howell and Dovie Pauline Bennett. Beverly attended school in Los Angeles and graduated from Phineas Banning High School in 1951. After moving to Lockney, TX after graduation, she met Jimmie Lee McGowen, and they were married on October 17, 1953 in Clovis, NM. They made their home in Plainview for 59 years before moving to Andrews in 2012 to be close to family. Beverly was a member of the Plainview Women’s Golf Association and the Women’s Bowling Association where she made many life-long friends. While residing in Plainview she also was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family. She always enjoyed watching her four grandkids in all of their sporting events and various school activities, gathering with all of the family for holidays, working on puzzles, and eating good homecooked meals. She also looked forward to visiting over the phone with her grandkids, daughters, family, and friends about favorite tv shows, sports, life events, and food. One of the biggest lessons she passed on to her daughters was to treasure family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Janet Lee McGowen, her brother Bobby Bennett, her sister Darla Visage, and her husband Jimmie Lee.

She is survived by her daughters Judy Bailey and husband Steve of Andrews, and Jody Ewing and husband Don of Grapevine; four grandchildren, Brett Bailey and wife Lauren of Midland, Tanner Bailey and wife Michaela of Lewisville, Megan Price and husband Reeder of Midland, and Taylor Todd and husband Blaine of San Angelo; two great-granddaughters, Andi Price and Parker Price of Midland; her sisters Donna Arnold of Whitney and Dianne McIlroy of Plainview, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
