Bobby (Bob) Lane Neill (Tulia)

Bobby Lane Neill passed away, surrounded by loved ones on July 13, 2026, in Tulia, Texas, at the age of 81. He was born on November 21, 1944 in Tulia, Texas, to the late George and Katherine Neill.

Bob graduated from Tulia High School in 1964. After graduation Bob married Marilyn Culp, also of Tulia, Texas and attended college to become a court reporter. They moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1967, where he took his first court reporting job and fulfilled a dream to live in “The Cowboy State”. They eventually moved to Buffalo, Wyoming where they spent most of their lives until Marilyn’s passing in 2007.

Bob raised two kids Amber Neill Kamps (Steve) of Ovando, Montana and Justin Neill (Jessica) of Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by two grandchildren Bridger Kamps (Andrea) of Ovando, Montana and Sage Kamps of Missoula, Montana. He is also survived by his brother, Randy Neill (Sherry) and sister, Bonnie Daniel (Kirk) both of Tulia. He was preceded in death by his sister JoAnn Weavers and Jimmy Neill.

Bob enjoyed owning horses, riding, and taking trips into the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming. He loved everything about being a cowboy and the cowboy life. No one is quite sure when it started, but somewhere along the line he took on the nickname “Cowboy Bob” by those who knew and loved him. He was never without his cowboy hat and rarely drove anything but a pickup truck.

Bob spent the last 10 years back in Tulia and realized he had moved in next to an old high school classmate, Nita Hooper, who turned out to be the best friend a guy could have. He and Nita not only enjoyed projects around their houses, but many adventures out on the open road visiting places and chasing grandkids (both hers and his). Both families were very happy for them to have each other to enjoy life with.

Arrangements have been made by Kornerstone Funeral Home in Tulia, Texas. A burial is being prepared for Bob in Buffalo, Wyoming.
