Brandon Shane Blount, 46, passed away in Washington D.C. July 16, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Hale Center, Texas with Kris Knippa officiating. Interment will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Green Memorial Park in Wilson, Texas under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas.

Brandon Shane Blount was born in Lubbock, Texas Jan 18, 1980 to Shane & Kathy Blount. Brandon attended Hale Center schools and graduated in May 1998 with honors. He then went to Texas Tech University where he received a Master’s degree in Architecture. While attending Texas Tech University, Brandon worked at Sam's Wholesale Club. After graduation, he started his career in Dallas at HKS Inc. which is an Architecture firm. After two years, they moved him to their Washington D.C. office where he worked until 2008. He then got a job at KGP Design Studio LLC. in Washington D.C. Here he excelled as an Architectural Design Professional Production/Design Support. He was a detailed-oriented staff architect with twenty-two years of experience assisting in all phases of design and construction and coordinating with architectural designers, contractors, and clients. He was also skilled in modeling and drafting using various programs. Here he was a proficient communicator during all various programs including submittals, changing orders, site observations & LEED documentation and was always a committed team player who goes above and beyond to ensure goals are accomplished. Brandon leaves behind a profound professional legacy as a visionary leader in architectural and urban design, having shaped diverse landscapes across residential, government, commercial, transportation, and urban sectors. Renowned for technical mastery and creative precision. He excelled in advanced CAD/BIM model management, construction documentation, and meticulous materials and spec research. As a cornerstone of project development support, he transformed complex concepts into reality using stunning digital modeling, rendering enhancements, precise BOMA tabulations, and comprehensive cost summaries and schedules. Beyond technical brilliance, Brandon was a deeply respected mentor and collaborator, celebrated for fostering exceptional client and staff relations. He also leaves behind a profound professional legacy, having shaped diverse landscapes across residential, government, commercial, transportation, and urban design sectors. Renowned for technical mastery, he excelled in construction documentation, advanced CAD/BIM model management, materials and spec research, and comprehensive project development support. As the firm's Revit Conversion Lead, he spearheaded the conversion of over 50 projects from 2D to Revit, boosting team efficiency by 30%. His specialized expertise in digital modeling, rendering enhancements, and polished presentation documents directly drove a 20% increase in project proposal success rates. A proven leader and profit optimization expert, he successfully managed a $6.2 million transportation project seamlessly within deadline, while simultaneously boosting profits by 15% through optimized add-on service management. Brandon is survived by his parents, Shane & Kathy Blount; brother Bradley Blount; sister-in-law Ashley Blount; two nephews Paxton and Deacon Blount; one niece Tatum Blount all of Sundown, Tx; uncle Larry and wife Catherine Raymond, uncle John and wife Julia Blount, uncle Tracy & Linda Blount; and numerous cousins.

He wore his joy the way he wore those spectacular outfits—unapologetically, radiantly, and with a generous spirit that invited everyone around him to be more themselves. Whether adorned in feathers and flowers, pride colors, or that perfect Stetson, he moved through the world on his own terms, turning every gathering into a celebration and reminding those who knew him that life is meant to be lived boldly, beautifully, and without apology.

But Brandon’s brilliance extended far beyond his personal radiance. As an architect, he shaped the spaces we move through every day—his work on signage for the DC Metro and Amtrak means that countless commuters have navigated public transit through designs that bear his fingerprint, his eye, his intelligence. He built infrastructure that was both functionally brilliant and imbued with aesthetic grace.

His vivacity was not performance—it was presence. It was love. It was resistance. It was simply, completely Brandon. He leaves behind not just cherished memories, but a lasting mark on the urban landscape itself.
