Tulia, Texas—Brenda Drake Shoemaker, 69, died on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 18, 2021 in the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Harold Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Brenda was born on June 11, 1951 in Tulia to David and Edna Drake. She grew up here and graduated Tulia High School in 1969. She married Jerry Shoemaker on June 26, 1970. They lived in Vanetta, Oklahoma, Claremore Oklahoma and Inola, Oklahoma before moving to Chouteau, Oklahoma where they lived for nearly 25 years. She played the piano and led praise and worship in the Assembly of God Church. They moved to Tulia in 2018 where she attended the First Assembly of God Church and played the piano and led praise and worship. She was deeply passionate about teaching, singing, and leading worship and sharing her talent with others.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Glenn Graham and Gene Drake.

She is survived by her husband: Jerry Shoemaker of Tulia, Three children: J.D. Shoemaker of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jeresa McLain of Choteau, Oklahoma and Jerenda Cowen of Verdigris, Oklahoma, one brother: Harold Drake of Tulia, one sister: Marjorie Costa of Sacramento, California, eight grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
