Bucky Adams, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026. Born on November 25, 1964, in the close-knit community of Petersburg, Texas. Bucky’s life was a testament to hard work, unwavering dedication, and a heart full of warmth and laughter.
Growing up on a family farm, Bucky was no stranger to the rhythms of the land. Farming alongside his family for many years, he developed a profound connection to the soil and the simple, honest way of life. Though his career path later led him to small construction projects and then, for the past two decades, as a catastrophe adjuster. Where he traveling across the United States. Bucky's heart was never far from the farm that shaped his early years.
Bucky was a man who never met a stranger. His love for people was palpable, expressed not only through his countless friends but through the good jokes he was always ready to share, accompanied by his infectious, hearty laugh that could light up any room. Those who knew him will fondly remember his ability to connect with others, his generous spirit, and his endless warmth.
He attended school in Petersburg before pursuing further studies at Texas Tech University for several years. On May 15, 1987, Bucky married the love of his life, Margaret Holladay, in the hometown that he cherished deeply. Together, they built a family filled with love and joy.
Bucky’s treasured hobbies reflected his love for life: he delighted in spending time with his granddaughters—Mady, Dalilah, and Mazee—cherishing every moment with them. He was an avid golfer and found peace and pleasure in fishing, pursuits that brought him relaxation and happiness amidst his busy life.
He is lovingly survived by his wife Margaret Adams of Petersburg; his daughter Taylor Hernandez and her husband Jace-O and their three children, also of Petersburg; his brother Ricky Adams and wife Linda of Colorado City; his loving in laws and many nieces and nephews who carry forward his legacy of kindness and cheerfulness.
Bucky was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and LaHonda Adams, whose memories he held close throughout his life and his special shop buddy, Little Max.
Friends and family are invited to gather to honor Bucky’s remarkable life. Visitation will be held on June 18, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, located at 2001 Main St, Petersburg, TX. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the same location. Burial will take place at Strip Cemetery immediately following the service.
Bucky Adams’ legacy is one of heartfelt connection, laughter, and steadfast devotion to family and community. Though he has left us, his spirit lives on in the smiles of his granddaughters, the stories shared among friends, and the enduring love of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.
