Buddy Stovall (Plainview)

Wallace “Buddy” Russell Stovall, 92, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Kress Cemetery in Kress, Texas with Bryan Vineyard officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. 

Buddy was born on July 27, 1928 in Memphis, Texas to Wallace and Ina (Wilkins) Stovall. He married Mary Turner on May 26, 1951. He grew up in the Kress area. He lived his whole life there with the exception of his time in the service when he served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a farmer, a story teller and his interests and hobbies included mechanical stuff to do with his work. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kress.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sister, Jean Garner, and his grandson, Jeffrey Stovall.

He is survived by his daughter, Gina Burdette of Kress; his son, Gary Stovall and wife Amy of Hereford; his sister, Betty Baker of Shepherd, Texas; five grandchildren, Missy Jewkes, Jody Stovall, Mendy Pesina, Macy Cundiff, Keleigh Stovall, Amber Mills; and five great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Kress Cemetery, P.O. Box 1194, Kress, Texas 79052.
