Charles “Charlie” Sims, 70, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022, in Plainview, Texas. Charlie was born January 17, 1952, in Vernon, Texas to Jesse and Ruby Sims. Charlie grew up on a farm with his 8 siblings in Fredrick, Oklahoma. His family moved to Tulia, Texas in 1962. He was united in marriage to Sharrion Keen on September 15, 1975. Charlie spent most of his adult life in Plainview. He was the owner of Charles Sims Water Well Service until his retirement in 2014.
Charlie spent his early years on the farm with his 5 brothers and 3 sisters. He was the youngest child of the family. After living in Tulia, he moved to Plainview. He worked for Green Machinery from 1974 to 1978. After leaving Greens, he started a cement business and later owned Charles Sims Water Well Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers: J.R. Sims, Kenneth Sims, Richard Sims, Bob Sims; his three sisters: Wanda Clark, Marie McClary, and Sally Kelly; and his grandson, Cavan Malone.
Charlie is survived by his wife of the home, Sharrion Sims; five children: Steve (Janie) Suber of Post, Krystal (Mike) Phillips of Plainview, Jenna (Chad) Malone of Lubbock, Jessie Sims of Levelland, and Devin Sims of Plainview: one brother, Leon (Wilma) Sims of Kingsland, Tx, a sister-in-law Edith Sims of Plainview; grandchildren: Martin Melendrez, Dora Bishop, Madeline and Cade Phillips, Alpha, Megan, Oaklyn and Irelyn Malone, and Wyatt Sims; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Kornerstone Funeral Directors, 3605 SW 3rd, Plainview, Texas. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.
