Charlie Marie Whitacre (Plainview)

Charlie Marie (Casey) Whitacre, 92 passed away on December 3, 2020 in Lockney, Texas. She was born in Amarillo, Texas on March 24, 1928 to the late Charles and Dena Casey. She grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School. In her younger years, Charlie worked in the family bakery and in later years as a nurse. She loved spending time with her family. While working for Dr. Gilmer Johnson, she went on multiple medical mission trips to Mexico. Charlie was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Jerry Whitacre, Sr. and a daughter, Jimmie Kathleen Whitacre. She is survived by son Chuck Whitacre and wife Eileen of Salado, Texas and daughter Lee Naron and husband Wes of Round Rock, Texas; grandchildren Kyle Whitacre and wife Helen of North Hollywood, California, Nicole Hehli of Salado, Texas, Adam Naron and wife Torrie of Prosper, Texas, Rachel Ecker and husband Kellen of Cedar Park, Texas, Katie Chaney and husband Rhett of Leander, Texas, and Jacob Naron and wife Skylar of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren Finn Whitacre, Link Whitacre, Julia Hehli, Kennedy Naron, Davis Naron, Rowen Ecker, Lark Ecker, Rhylee Chaney, Laiken Chaney, and Tate Chaney; and many nieces and nephews. The family will hold a private celebration of Charlie Marie’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Plainview or a charity of choice. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Plainview Health Care Center and Lockney Health and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care provided to Charlie Marie.
