Colette Jones Wright (Plainview)

Colette Jones Wright, 95, of Plainview passed away on May 6, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 10, 2024 at First Baptist Church Chapel in Plainview, Texas with Chris Craig officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview.

Colette Jones Wright was born on February 13, 1929. She grew up on the farm homestead in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma claimed by her grandparents in the Oklahoma Land Run. The depression and dust bowl drove them off the farm and they moved to Wolfforth, Texas when she graduated from high school. She attended Wayland Baptist College. She married the love of her life Clarence Wright on March 9, 1951. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and served in many areas over 70 years. She was a member of Questers Study Club and loved gardening and sewing. She and Clarence engaged in square dancing and traveling in their camper. She was a loving mother and grandmother who never missed a program or ballgame. She always had a dessert ready to share when they came to visit.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Hollie Adams, her parents, Jeff and Rena Jones, and her husband, Clarence Wright.

She is survived by her children, Caren (Barry) Miller, Colby (Lisa) Wright and Caryl Owens. Her grandchildren are Jeff (Kate) Miller, Holly (Cory) Johnson, Jennifer Webb, Will (Caitlyn) Wright, Colti (Cort) Smith, Adam (Hailey) Owens and Rebecca (Landon) Patterson. Her great grandchildren are Cannon, Meredith, Brenna and Jack Miller; Aubrey and Lily Johnson; Emily Murphey, Colter Wright; Calvary Smith; Grayson, Knox, Beckham and Easton Owens and Annabeth Patterson (due in August).

Much appreciation is given to her caregivers Alena Martinez and Gina Martinez and Interim Hospice.
