Cruz M. Rodriguez (Tulia)

Cruz M. Rodriguez, 84, of Tulia, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 7, 2025 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel, with Minister John Cardenas officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.

Cruz was born on May 2, 1941, in Terlingua, Texas, to Tomas and Manuela (Marufo) Rodriguez. He married the love of his life, Luisa Sosa, on April 10, 1966, in Tulia. Throughout his life, Cruz dedicated himself to farming, most recently working for Steve Raymond. He had a profound appreciation for the outdoors, relishing in the company of his farm animals and finding joy in listening to music and working on cars. Cruz is remembered for his sweet nature, humility, and generosity. His gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to those he loved will forever be cherished. Throughout his life, Cruz embodied resilience and a deep connection to the land, touching the lives of all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Manuela Rodriguez; his daughter, Becky Rodriguez; two brothers, Santiago Rodriguez and Honorio Rodriguez; one sister, Augustina Howard; his son-in-law, Rudy Ortiz and his granddaughter, Roxanne Alvarez.

He is survived by his wife, Luisa Rodriguez of Tulia; one son, Enrique Rodriguez and wife Judy of Tulia; two daughters, Diana Ortiz of Tulia and Dora Smith and husband Michael of Tulia; his brothers, Felix Rodriguez and wife Corina of Canyon, Danny Rodriguez of San Antonio, Mickey Rodriguez and wife Ramona of Amarillo and Gilbert Rodriguez and wife Cynthia of Amarillo; four sisters, Rosa Jones of Pampa, Gloria Diaz of Hart, Barbara Navarro and husband Jesse of Canyon and Alice Hernandez and husband George of Amarillo, eleven grandchildren, Calvin, Sierra, Jordan, Brian, Haley, Celeste, Justin, Joseph, Christopher, Saul and John, eighteen great grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren.
