Cynthia Ann Jernigan (Plainview)

Cynthia Ann Jernigan, 61, of Afton passed away on December 1, 2021 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 6, 2021 at Kornerstone Chapel. Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday afternoon in Afton Cemetery, Afton, Texas under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. A visitation will be held 3:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the funeral home. Cynthia was born February 11, 1960 in Plainview, Texas to Charles and Carolyn (Whittington) Summers. She married Eric Jernigan on September 2, 1995 in Plainview. Cindy loved being with family and friends, loving, laughing, and talking. Funny antics always seemed to occur with her whether at a family function or fishing. Cindy loved to travel and had been to 46 of 50 states with Texas and Oregon being her favorites. Fishing was a passion of hers. She loved the thrill of the catch and the peace of the lakes, ponds and rivers. Cindy was always willing to help with anyone and everything until her health kept her from doing so. She also loved bottled calves and baby livestock. She is survived by her husband, Eric Jernigan; a daughter, April McGill and husband Kevin; two sons, Michael Shawn Fortenberry and wife Jill, Jordan Lane Jernigan; sisters, Lacrecia Morphis and husband Joe, Paula Summers; half siblings, Tommy Stevenson, Michelle Potts; and three grandchildren, Destiny Fabela, Makayla Fabela and Gentry Fortenberry.
