Tulia, Texas- Danny Ray Macias, 53, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Pastor Paul George officiating with burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.

Danny was born on October 23, 1968, in Tulia to Guillermo and Maria Luisa (Basaldua) Macias. Danny attended Tulia schools and was known to be very athletic still having the record for the 800 Meter run at Tulia Junior High. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1988. He loved to coach t-ball and little league for many years. He later founded the Tulia Baseball Club (TBC) with Roy Flores and Louie Macias for five years. Texas Ballers traveling team was later created in 2004 with Louie Macias coaching kids from surrounding areas for many years. He was a lifelong collector of baseball, basketball and football cards amassing quite a collection. Danny was a true Dallas Cowboy fan and loved the Boston Red Sox. He loved to break dance with his signature move of the heartbeat. He loved the Sonic Drive-In going every day for numerous years for a Coca-Cola with “easy ice” in his morning shift had it ready at the window before he got there at 7:30 sharp. Danny’s personality was loving, caring and being a great father to his kids and grandfather to his grandchildren and being hilarious often telling the funniest stores and corny jokes and affectionately picking on his sister Christina “beep beep.” He loved being a great influence on his Texas Ballers baseball team creating lasting memories and creating a legacy for other baller kids having their own baseball teams and dreams and being a great father figure to many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Guillermo and Maria Macias, his sister, Priscilla Sanders, his granddaughter, Audrey Macias.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky of Tulia; his children, Kristal Washington and husband Jamar of Tulia, Nicole Owens and husband Malcolm of Tulia and D-Ray Macias and wife Brittany of Amarillo; his stepchildren, Cassandra Ramon and Delfino Guzman both of Tulia and Maria Guzman of Whitehall MI.; his sisters, Lidia Simmons and husband Bently of Tulia and Christina Garza and husband Louis of Amarillo; his brother in law, Michael Ramon of San Antonio; his grandchildren, J’Lynn Owens, Hayden Owens, Braylon Owens, Braxten Washington, Karter Washington, Alyssa Macias, Emarie Macias and Brinley Macias; his step grandchildren, Payton Perez, Beau Perez and Elyana Valenzuela and numerous nieces and nephews .
