Denys Loyd Sanders, 71, of Plainview passed away on July 27, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Plainview, Texas with Anthony Longoria officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview.
Denys was born on July 21, 1955 in Lamesa, Texas to Frederick and Christine Sanders. Denys was raised in Lamesa until he turned 18, then moved to Plainview, Texas to attend Wayland Baptist University. While in college he met the love of his life, Frances Jolene Brock. They graduated and moved to Bremerton, WA. While on the way, they stopped in The Dalles, Oregon to get hitched on March 22, 1979. After a short time there, they moved back to Texas and found Plainview to have a great view of flat land and came to find plumbing as a good trade to follow. He also had a son who followed him down that same drain. He served his community for 43 years as a master plumber and dedicated his time and effort into his craft. They had many wonderful memories of traveling across a few ponds and was able to enjoy much of God’s wonders and beauty. He was involved in his community by attending Oprah of the Plains, Plainview Community Concerts and Christ in the Arts Ballet, Far East Broadcasting, and building the Plainview Christian Academy campus. He took pride in being able to teach his children to learn to invest for the future. His treasured accomplishments are, first and foremost his family, being a master plumber, and recognized as Marquis Who’s Who 2023. Denys was so loved and will be missed by many friends and family.
Denys is preceded in death by his father, Frederick Sanders; grandson, Aiden LeDoux; unofficially adopted son, Mike Samford; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Denys is survived by his loving wife, Jolene Sanders; his mother, Christine Sanders; his children, Dela (Deraux LeDoux), Dennie, David (Stephanie), Doanh (Stephen Williams), and Dustin (Kai); his cherished grandchildren, Shawn, Madison, Jacob, Beckett, and Alice; siblings, Sandra Lynn Bearden (Perry), Ruby Lee Crawford (Douglas), Jo Liane Perkins (Joe), Linda Lu Jackson (Richard); and numerous nieces and nephews, and the great nieces and nephews; and his honorary family, Kathy Armknecht Green, Gary Reding, Jaine, Keller, Judy Samford and son Micheal, Debi Weiss, Tomi Weiss, Bree Allen, and Kazi Weiss.
