Dwight Watson (Plainview)

Allen Dwight Watson, 68, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 in Amarillo.  Funeral Service will be held at 10:00A.M. Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Garland Street Church of Christ in Plainview with Steve Gauntt officiating.  Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Dwight was born November 12, 1954 in Wheeler, Texas to Lucky and Mildred Watson. He was a very loving husband and father. His most important role was being “DeDe” to all of his grands and great grands. Dwight started driving trucks at a very early age and drove for many companies. He went to work for Wal-Mart in July of 1986. Dwight was the 4th Wal-Mart driver to receive the 4 million safe miles award on June 12, 2017. He will be deeply missed by many family and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; Lucky and Mildred Watson, brothers; Doyce Watson, Marshall Watson, Leon Watson, Phillip Watson, Ronnie Watson and sister; Cheryl McKinley. 

Dwight is survived by his wife; Rebecca “Becky” Watson of  Plainview, sons; Jeremy Chase Watson and wife Trisha of Plainview, Christopher Tye Watson of Plainview, daughter; April Danielle Wyszynski and husband Jeff of Gail, sisters; JoAnn Lackey of Fort Worth, Donna Huggins and husband Clive of Rio Rancho,NM, brothers; Gene Watson and wife Shelia of Pampa, Carroll Watson and wife Karen of Plainview, Rick Watson and wife Sharon of Plainview, sister-in-laws; Laura Watson of Odessa, Colleen Watson of North Richland Hills and Alicia Watson of Amarillo. 

His grandchildren; Mallory Washington and husband Anthony of Plainview, Courtney Hastey and husband Ethan of Plainview, Brooke Newlin and husband Alex of Oxford,MS, Taylee, Tianna, Cadyn, Aubrianna and Elianna Watson of Plainview, Chamber and Averi Wyszynski of Gail. 

His great grandchildren; Adelynn and Aspyn Washington of Plainview, and two precious additions in the fall.
