Ellaine Newman (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Ellaine Newman, 87, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, July 8, 2022, in the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Harold Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Ellaine was born on October 23, 1934, in Plainview to Arvin and Myrtle Thomason. She grew up in Plainview and attended Plainview Schools. She worked as a hairdresser and a teacher’s assistant. She also was a sales lady of women’s clothing where she was the manager of the Hollywood Department Store in Plainview. She married Delbert Newman on July 10, 1984, in Clovis, NM. They lived in Tulia. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Tulia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Delbert died on September 3, 2018, and three brothers: Arvin Thomason, Charles Thomason, and Frank Thomason.

She is survived by her daughter: Paula Atkinson of Plainview, two sons: Ren Bradford of Plainview and Kerry Bradford of Plainview, her stepdaughter: Traci Lewis of Midland, four grandchildren: Casey Davis, Tiffany Bradford, Jennifer Herrera and Christi Shaddix-Perkins and many great grandchildren and many great, great grandchildren.
