Esperanza "Hope" Rodriquez (Plainview)

Esperanza “Hope” Rodriquez, 68, of Hale Center, Texas, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview, Texas, with Pastor Elias Moralez officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview, Texas.

Hope was born on September 24, 1956, in Dimmitt, Texas, to Jose and Ramona Escamilla. She married David Rodriquez on July 30, 1978, in Plainview, Texas.

Hope lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with joy and a carefree spirit. She loved to travel with her boys and daughters-in-law, both overseas and stateside, experiencing the beauty of Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, and the UK. Whether she was exploring new places or simply enjoying a relaxing getaway, her heart was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones—watching movies, crafting, decorating, or spending time with Bella, her beloved pup, and her grand-pups.

She dedicated over 30 years of her life as a paraprofessional, where she found great purpose in mentoring and working with children. She retired on December 1, 2024. Her patience, encouragement, and loving guidance left a lasting impact on countless young lives.

A gifted and creative soul, Hope loved gardening and expressing herself through arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed spoiling her niece Natasha, whom she loved as her own daughter, and her two grandchildren, Xavier and Zephaniah, who brought her endless joy and laughter.

Hope was known for her warm and meaningful hugs—each one a reminder of how deeply she loved and how fully she cared. Her embrace could lift your spirits and make you feel right at home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Ramona Escamilla, and two sisters, Ramona Escamilla and Mary Alice Solis.

She is survived by her husband, David Rodriquez of Hale Center, Texas; two sons, David Rodriquez Jr. and wife Jessica of Lubbock, Texas, and Sonny Rodriquez and wife Renee of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, Juan Escamilla and wife Debbie of Plainview, Texas, and Paul Escamilla and wife Jennifer of College Station, Texas; two sisters, Josie Lopez and husband Refugio of San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and Nora Caldera of Dallas, Texas; and two grandchildren, Xavier and Zephaniah.

Hope’s radiant spirit, creative heart, and deep love for her family will continue to inspire and comfort all those she leaves behind.
