Felix DeLaRosa, Jr. (Tulia)

--Felix DeLaRosa, Jr., 77, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2026 in the Kornerstone Chapel, Tulia, TX with Evangelist Joe Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

A viewing will be held at 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2026 at the funeral home

Felix was born on July 1, 1949, in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Felix Sr. and Hermina (Salazar) DeLaRosa, Felix's life was shaped by both challenges and remarkable achievements.

At the tender age of two, Felix contracted polio. However, this diagnosis would never define him. Felix approached life with unwavering determination, becoming a shining example of resilience and creativity. Felix attended Tulia Satellite School. With incredible resourcefulness, he learned to navigate the world with one hand and one leg, dressing himself and completing his chores without complaint. His sisters affectionately nicknamed him "Spiderman" and "Fatboy.” His adventurous spirit and his ability to conquer any obstacle that came his way.

Felix had a profound love for the outdoors and no matter the circumstances, he found ways to engage with the world around him and inspire those who knew him. His strength and optimism served as a guiding light to his family and friends, reminding them all that one's spirit knows no limits. Because Felix enjoyed his 3 wheel bike some much he always made sure his nieces and nephews had bicycles.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix Sr. and Herminia DeLaRosa, his brothers, Adam DeLaRosa and Domingo DeLaRosa; his sisters, Betty Garcia and Jolanda “Yogie” Jones; his brothers-in-law, Rueben Arriaga, Erasmo Moreno, Blas Garcia, and Hilario Galvan.

He is survived by his sisters, Susie Galvan, Marie Dunn and husband Paul, Geneva Camancho and husband Fred, Bigenia Arriaga, Rebeca Moreno; and his brother-in-law, Gary Jones; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Melchor Avila Jr., Ignacio Avila, Gabriel Arriaga, Nathaniel Arriaga, Desmon Dunn, Dexter Dunn, Daniel Salinas, Eddie Salinas.

Honorary Pallbearers: Veronica Salinas, Zadiann Salinas.
