Fennely Huffine (Plainview)

Fennely Franklin Huffine, 90, of Plainview passed away peacefully on Christmas Day 2020 in Plainview, Texas.

A private graveside service will be Monday December 28th at 11 a.m. in Parklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Kyle Brock officiating. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Fennely was born April 9th, 1930, near Cement, Oklahoma, in the small community of Rocky Ford to   J.W. “Bill” and Elsie Huffine.  He moved to Texas at an early age with his family. They settled near Olton, where they farmed.  Fennely married Wanda Walker on Saturday July 18th, 1953 in Plainview Texas.

Fennely’s early career started in the 1940’s working at Case Tractor in Olton, Texas before moving to Plainview and working at John Speck’s machine shop and then as a mechanic on farm equipment. He worked at Tillerson-Fish International Tractors until it’s closure in the mid 1980’s and then he went to work for John Deere Equipment that later became Ray Lee Equipment. He worked for the Lee’s until his retirement.  After retirement he could be found at his grandchildren’s sporting events and chauffeuring them around, from after school pick-ups to sports practice and games or trips to Dairy Queen. He also had a passion for antique tractors and collecting antique tools.

He was a devout Christian and had a love of his church and reading the Bible. He spent every Sunday, as long as he was able, as a door greeter and usher, always with a smile on his face and a pack of Certs in his shirt pocket for anyone that wanted one.

He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Huffine, in 1996 and two brothers Eldon Huffine in 2003 and Chester Huffine in 2013.

Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Bradshaw and husband Joe Dale Bradshaw; three grandchildren, Peyton Bradshaw, Madyson Bradshaw Hayes and husband Dylan Hayes and Noah Bradshaw all of Plainview; One Brother Don Huffine and his wife Gay Nell of Abilene, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Grace United Methodist Church, 3333 W 11th, Plainview, TX 79072.
