Foncine Jeanette Carthel (Plainview)

Foncine Carthel, 86 passed away on September 22, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:30 pm Wednesday September 25,2024 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Thursday September 26,2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in the Providence community with pastor Sean McConathy officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Foncine was born on October 30, 1937 in Plainview, TX to Ted and Freda Boedeker. She married Royce Carthel on July 15, 1955 in Clovis, N.M. and they were married 69 years. She and Royce farmed in the Plainview area. She also enjoyed her work at Ramsower’s furniture in Plainview for many years.

Foncine loved her children and their spouses. She especially loved her grandchildren. Holidays with the entire family were very special to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Larry Boedeker, and sister-in-law, Lajuanna Boedeker.

Foncine is survived by her husband, Royce Carthel; two brothers, Cecil Boedeker of Amarillo, Merlin Boedeker and wife Pam of Lockney; a sister-in-law, Pat Boedeker of Plainview; two sons, Fonty Carthel and wife Ivy of Plainview, Lanny Carthel and wife Kim of Plainview; one daughter, Danna Griffin and husband Gregg of Olton; nine grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.
