Frances Darlene Sanders (Plainview)

Frances Darlene Sanders, age 84, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 9, 2021. She was born in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1954 and then attended Lippert’s Business School. After completion, Darlene worked for Judge Lewis at the Plainview Courthouse. After several years working for Judge Lewis, Darlene began a long career at Harvest Queen Mill as a grain buyer until her retirement. Darlene was an avid bowler and was involved in several bowling leagues. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Plainview Women’s Golf Association as well as the South Plains Women’s Golf Association. She enjoyed taking cruises and traveling with friends to see new places. She had several pets over the years that she adored. She was happiest when surrounded by her pets and the people she loved. Ms. Sanders was a member of First United Methodist Church in Plainview and a member of the Disciples Sunday School Class. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Jane Sanders, and brother Jimmy Sanders and wife Paula Sanders and niece Treva Gillespie. She is survived by her brother Barry of Plainview, nieces Desi Pharis, Cassie Sanders, Summer Sanders, Lacey Sanders and Lisha Edwards and husband Jamie, nephews Kevin Clower and Brady Sanders, and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church Wednesday, March 3rd at 1:30 p.m. under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family would request memorial donations to be made to PAWS Pet Adoption or First United Methodist Church.
