Francisco Zapata-Mireles (Plainview)

Francisco Zapata Mireles, 87 passed away at home on October 14, 2023. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend. Loved by so many in life. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 17, 2023 at 1 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Service arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. A rosary will be held on Monday October 16, 2023 at 6:30 PM at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview. Francisco also known as “Pancho” or “Welo” was born on March 13, 1936 in Tula, Tamaulipas Mexico to Cruz Zapata and Juan Mireles. He came to the United States in the early 1970s. where he worked In construction for over 45 years all around. He spent most of his life in Plainview, Texas along side his family. During his free time after retiring, he still enjoyed helping his sons with projects, watching old Mexican Western Movies or shows, but most of all spending time with all his family which all brought him joy and relaxation. Francisco is survived by his wife Tomasa Garcia Mireles, his children Jose F. Mireles; Martha Leyva of Midland, Nicolasa Mireles of Lubbock, Juan Mireles; Irma Lucio of Plainview, Sandra Carillo; Miguel Carillo of Levelland, Leonel and Bertha Mireles of Plainview, Robert Jr. Mireles (Son/Grandson) of Plainview. Blessed with 26 grandkids, 41 great grandkids. Proceeded in death by his parents, Juan Mireles and Cruz Zapata. His two sons Roberto Mireles and Abdiel Mireles, One Grandson Jose Fernando Lucio.
