Freddy Andrew Bell, 81, of Plainview passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Plainview Methodist Church with Rev. Russ Panzer and Rev. Mike Schafer officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A viewing and visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 17, 2023 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Freddy was born on October 14, 1941 in Knox City, Texas to John Shelby and Myrtle Riggins Bell.  His family moved to Plainview from O’Brien in 1952.  Freddy was a farmer and farmed over 50 years in the Halfway community.  He has served on many boards over the years including being the past president of the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association and a member of many other agriculture associations.  He was also a member of the Plainview Methodist Church where he was very active and served on many committees and boards for the church.  Freddy was a member of the Scottish Rite and was a 32nd Degree Mason. 

Freddy married Carole on July 31, 1986.

Survivors include his wife Carole Bell of the home; children, Keith Bell and wife Clarissa of Lubbock, Ginger Bell Porter of Lubbock, Teri Oates Jones and husband Kevin of Northlake, John Oates and wife Sara of Austin; brothers, Samuel Bell and wife Gayle of West Point, Georgia, John Rodney Bell and wife Barbara of Halfway, Dr. Donald Bell and wife Debra of Lexington, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Chloe Kitchens and husband Sterling of Plano, Camille Bell of Lubbock, Kathryn Bell of Lubbock, Nathan Jones of Northlake, Aaron Jones of Denton, Eli Oates, Zillie Oates, and Van Oates all of Austin.

Freddy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Myrtle Bell.
