Freddy Cate (Plainview)

Freddy Cate, 77, of Plainview passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Monday, March 20, 2023 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Joseph Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the funeral home. Mr. Cate was born November 11, 1945 in Abernathy, Texas to George & Millie Cate. He married Linda Kay Rushing on August 31, 1968. Freddy is preceded in death by his parents, George & Millie Cate; his wife Linda Kay Cate; three brothers, Alvie Jones, Billy Ray Cate and Joe Cate; three sisters, Vita Sherrill, Charlotte Martin and Bessie Nell Cate and his granddaughter, Samantha Alvis. He is survived by four children, Dennis Cate of Plainview, Melissa Alvis & husband Richard of Plainview, Amy Leatherman & husband Mark of Plainview and Michael Cate of Lubbock; two brothers, James Cate and Charles Cate; two sisters, Thelma Rowlett and Nancy Greer and three grandchildren, Kayla Alvis, Lilly Leatherman and Tate Leatherman.
