Gary Richard "Ricky" Huffine (Plainview)

Gary Richard Huffine, 69, of Plainview passed away on August 1, 2023. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Director’s Chapel with Steve Rogers officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview, Texas. Rick was born on March 6, 1954 to Marvin and Betty in Plainview, Texas. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1972. He received his beautician license from McBride’s Cosmetology School before he graduated from high school. He was able to buy his first car with his earnings! He developed a passion for styling hair and served his community with his skills and personality. He first went to work for Dovie Gilleland. He then went to work for Ethel Marshall at Ethel’s Hair Design. After Ethel retired, Rick and his parents purchased Ethel’s Hair Design. They renamed it Rick’s Lasting Impressions. After owning the shop for many years, they sold it and Rick worked for the new owner. Rick decided to go solo. He and his parents renovated his grandmother’s house and opened Rick’s on Broadway. He also worked for Westridge Manor and Lana's. He was so loved and will be missed by many friends and family. He was so gifted and talented, musically and artistically. He always used his gifts and talents for God. Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Betty Huffine. Rick is survived by his brother; Danny Huffine and wife Rachel of Tuscola, Texas, sister; Lori McWilliams and husband Bruce of Allen, Texas, nephews; Dane McWilliams of Northlake, Texas, Joseph McWilliams of San Francisco, California, Brink Huffine of Tuscola, Texas, Jesse Huffine of Abilene, Texas, nieces; Anna McWilliams of Princeton, Texas, and Roxanne Huffine of Denver, Colorado.
