Gilberto Pena Sr. (Plainview)

Gilberto Pena Sr., 78, of Plainview passed away on July 25, 2022. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Trinity Life Church with Joshua Ramirez of Church on the Rock officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park.  Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Kornerstone Chapel.

Gilberto was born on August 31, 1943 to Angel Pena and Cruz Bernal Pena. He grew up in George West. He married Eugenia Lucio on August 28, 1966. They moved to Lamar, Colorado and Las Cruces for a few years before moving to Plainview. He worked for Cargill for 25 years before retiring in 2008. He loved watching boxing and taking care of his plants. He loved his family gatherings and was a jokester.

Gilberto is survived by his two daughters; Sandra Martinez and husband Donald of Lubbock, Texas and Diana Pena and husband Jeff Rodriguez of Lubbock, Texas; his seven sons; Albert Pena of Plainview, Texas, Gilbert Pena Jr. and wife Blanca of Plainview, Texas, Juan Pena and wife Sophia of Plainview, Texas, George Pena and Romie Carrillo of Lubbock, Texas, Robert Pena of Plainview, Texas, Ruben Pena of Plainview, Texas, Steven Pena and Ariel Cortes of Plainview, Texas; One brother, Pete Pena of Plainview, Texas; two sisters, Vicky Ysaguirre of Amarillo and Juana Perez of Plainview, Texas; He loved all 54 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.

Gilberto is preceded in death by his parents, Angel and Cruz Pena; his wife Eugenia Pena, his daughter Teresa Pena; brother Perfecto Pena, sister Hela Hernandez and grandson, Darren Pena.
