Guadalupe Cardenas (Plainview)

Guadalupe “Walle” (Lupe) Cardenas, age 102, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2025, just one week shy of his 103rd birthday. He was born on December 12, 1922, in Falls City, Texas to Gavino and Guadalupe (Rodriguez) Cardenas. He married Lucia Rios Cardenas on June 10, 1945, in Tilden, Texas. He lived a long and fulfilling life, faithfully serving his Lord, church, family, and community. Walle deeply loved his family and the Lord and shared his faith with everyone he encountered. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Abundance Grace Church in Plainview, Texas, with Joe Barrera officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. Visitation will take place from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Kornerstone Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Beatrice Jasso, Sofia Morales, Elisa Ramos, and Paula Rios; brothers Simon Cardenas Sr. and Fred Cardenas Sr.; son Joe Cardenas; and daughter Gloria Soto. He is survived by his grandchildren: Jimmy Joe Cardenas, Elisa Cardenas, Carlos Soto, Daniel Soto, and Stephanie Soto Canez; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He was also survived by host of nieces and nephews.

 The family would like to extend a special thank you to Westridge Manor, Traditions Hospice, and his caregivers, Patricia Alvarez, Dena Bye, Connie Espinosa and Reynalda Martinez for the love and exceptional care they provided to Walle and Lucia.
