Gumecindo C. Garcia (Pops) (Plainview)

Gumecindo C. Garcia passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025 in Durango Mexico. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 10 A.M. at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with pastor Joe Barrera officiating.

Gumecindo was born January 13, 1939 to Agapito and Francisca Garcia in San Juan, Mexico. Two years after his birth, his parents along with him migrated to Texas where he was raised. Gumecindo (Pops) spent his whole life farming and seemed to have a passion for it as he worked all the way up until March of 2025. At the age of 21 he married the love of his life Mary H. Garcia. Together they created a beautiful family. 25 years later she went with the lord. A few years later he met Rosa Garcia whom he later married and spent the rest of his life with.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Agapito and Francisca Garcia; His one and only daughter, Rosie Garcia, and two sons Chris Garcia and Gume Jr. Garcia.

He is survived by his wife Rosa Garcia of Durango Mexico; One sister Francisca Garcia of Bryan Tx: Son David and Mickey Garcia along with 4 grandkids Gabriel, Veronica, Angela and Andy Garcia all of Plainview; Son Michael and Erica Garcia of Plainview; Son Robert and Amy Garcia along with two granddaughters Maria and Jacquelynn Garcia of Plainview; Son in-law Artemio Garcia along with two grandkids Gabriel and wife Dalia Garcia, Clarissa Garcia of Plainview; One Daugter in-law Virge Garcia and two grandkids Mark and wife Lourie Garcia, Mariah Garcia of Plainview.
