Helen Burleson (Plainview)

Helen Louise (Tucker) Burleson, 96, passed away on January 23, 2021. Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 29, 2021 at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Rev. Richard Dye, pastor of First Christian Church will be officiating.

She was born on December 10, 1924 in Memphis, Texas to Jasper and Edna (Taylor) Tucker. She moved to Plainview in 1935 and lived there the rest of her life. She graduated from Plainview High School in May of 1942. She attended Lippert’ Business College and worked as a bookkeeper at Cloverlake Dairy Foods. She then worked as a teller at Hale County State Bank and Centennial Bank until she retired at 65 and continued working part time until 2003. She was a member of Business and Professional Women’s club, several Dance Clubs and First Christian Church in Plainview. She loved square dancing, reading, church choir, and travel. She once owned a Piper Tripacer and loved flying small aircraft.  

She married Richard Burleson on December 7, 1985 in Plainview, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister Mildred Aylene Tucker.

Survivors include her brother, Jasper Milton Tucker, Jr.; nieces, Kimberly Collins and husband Kenneth of Watauga, TX, Leslie Ann Bardo and fiancé Mike Mederos of Bedford, TX; step children, Larry Burleson of Plainview, Mark Burleson of Morrison CO, Sheryl Davis of Sagle ID, Susan Keck of Chelan, WA.
