Hilario Cortez, 68, of Tulia passed away on May, 15, 2024. Funeral mass will be held at Church of the Holy Spirit on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. with Father Hector Madrigal officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A rosary will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 6:00 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia.

Hilario, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather was born on January 14, 1956 in Mexico to Juan and Calistra Cortez. He married the love of his life, Reyes Hilda (Flores) Cortez on April 21, 1979 in Mexico. Known for his dedication to his work, Hilario spent 20 years working at Cargil Meat Solutions alongside his wife. Everyone knew him as "Larry". He shared a passion for the New York Yankees, cherished family cookouts, and had a green thumb, finding joy in gardening and planting trees. He will be missed by many friends and family. 

Hilario is preceded in death by his parents; Juan and Calistra Cortez, brothers; Ruben Cortez, Felipe Cortez, and Heriberto Cortez, sister; Mariad de Jesus Rodriguez.

Hilario is survived by his wife; Reyes Hilda Cortez of Tulia, sons; Efrain and wife Melinda Cortez of Tulia, and Esteban Cortez of Tulia, daughter; Erika Cortez of Tulia,  brothers; Jose Cortez of Mexico, Juan Cortez of Mexico, sister; Ofelia Cano and Estefana Zuniga both of Mexico, four granchildren; Efrain Cortez Jr., Alma Cortez, Nyeli Cortez, and Lilyana Cortez.



Hilario Cortez, de 68 años, de Tulia falleció el 15 de mayo de 2024. La misa de funeral se llevará a cabo en la Iglesia del Espíritu Santo el lunes 20 de mayo de 2024 a las 2:00 p.m. oficiando el Padre Héctor Madrigal. Seguirá el entierro en el cementerio Rose Hill bajo el cuidado de los directores de funeraria Kornerstone de Tulia.

Se realizará un rosario el domingo 19 de mayo de 2024 de 6:00 p.m. a 8 p. m. en la Capilla de Directores de Funerarias Kornerstone en Tulia.

Hilario, un amado esposo, padre y abuelo, nació el 14 de enero de 1956 en México, hijo de Juan y Calistra Cortez. Se casó con el amor de su vida, Reyes Hilda (Flores) Cortez el 21 de abril de 1979 en México. Conocido por su dedicación a su trabajo, Hilario pasó 20 años trabajando en Cargil Meat Solutions junto a su esposa. Todos lo conocían como "Larry". Compartía la pasión por los Yankees de Nueva York, apreciaba las comidas al aire libre en familia y tenía talento para la jardinería y disfrutaba de la jardinería y la plantación de árboles. Mucho's amigos y familiares lo extrañarán.

A Hilario le precedieron en la muerte sus padres; Juan y Calistra Cortez, hermanos; Rubén Cortez, Felipe Cortez y Heriberto Cortez, hermana; María de Jesús Rodríguez.

A Hilario le sobreviven su esposa; Reyes Hilda Cortez de Tulia, hijos; Efraín Cortés de Tulia, y Esteban Cortés de Tulia, hija; Erika Cortez de Tulia, hermanos; José Cortez de México, Juan Cortez de México, hermana; Ofelia Cano y Estefana Zúñiga ambas de México, cuatro nietos; Efraín Cortez Jr., Alma Cortez, Nyeli Cortez y Lilyana Cortez.
