James Andrew “Andy” Milligan

James Andrew “Andy” Milligan, 53, of Austin passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in Plainview Memorial Park with Rev. Doug Yates of Plainview Family Church of the Nazarene.  Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Andy was born on December 18, 1969 in Amarillo, Texas to Bobby and Lynn Milligan.  He grew up in Amarillo and was a Registered Nurse at different hospitals and nursing homes in Amarillo and Ft. Smith Arkansas briefly.  He enjoyed taking care of people and received fulfillment in doing so.  He had a fondness for patients with Alzheimer’s.

He loved to laugh and make others laugh.  He was a joker and prankster and teased the ones he loved relentlessly, especially little brother Aaron.  He had a beautiful singing voice and was in the show choir in high school.  He was always singing or humming various tunes.  He also never met a stranger.  He made friends wherever he was and was voted Most Friendly his senior year.  Andy loved animals and had several dogs and cats.  He was also a protective brother and included Aaron with his friends whenever possible.  Andy touched many lives over the years and will be fondly remembered by all his friends and remaining family.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Lynn Milligan; grandparents, William Andrew Jolly, Bobbie Dee Jolly, Woodrow Milligan, Cora Hite; aunt, Jenell Baird; and uncle, Ron Milligan.

Survivors include his brother, Aaron D. Milligan; sister, Donece Knudson-Frank; and his first cousins, Melissa Kleen, Debi Hill, Kristi Baird, and Scott Milligan.
