Janie Romero (Plainview)

Janie Romero, 77, of Plainview passed away on January 18, 2026 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 22, 2026 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas with Miguel and Brenda Mendoza officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 21, 2026 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Janie was born November 17, 1948 to Rosendo and Antonia Basaldua in Iola, MS. She went to school in Nazareth until the eighth grade then moved to Happy where she attended high school. She married Mike Romero, Jr. on August 3, 1969 in Tulia, TX. Known for her generous heart, Janie had a true passion for sewing and cooking, often bringing the family together around delicious meals and handmade treasures. She made her family the center of her world, pouring her love into every stitch and every dish. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She was loved by so many and will be missed by countless friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Mike Romero, Jr., parents; Rosendo and Antonia Basaldua, daughter; Michelle Romero, brother; Mark Basaldua, and great grandson; Amari Galan.

She is survived by son; Rosendo Romero of Lubbock, his Daughter Kimberly Romero, his two sons Rosendo Romero and Polo Romero, Daniel Romero, Sr. of Lubbock, his daughter; Brittany Campbell and husband Ricky of Lubbock, daughter; Makayla Romero of Lubbock, son; Daniel Romero, Jr. of Lubbock, son; Armando Romero Sr and wife Lorina Romero of Lockney, his son Armando Romero Jr and wife Veronica Romero of Lockney, his Son, David Romero and wife Leandra Romero from Plainview, his Son, Aaron Romero from Amarillo, his son Zackary Romero and wife Cierra Romero of Amarillo, his daughter, Breanna Romero and husband Jairyn Galan of Colorado, his Son, Christopher Romero of Lockney. Daughter Daphine Romero Sendejo and Johnny of Lubbock, Her Daughter Anissa Romero and husband Moses Martinez of Plainview, her daughter Thalia Romero and husband William Washington of Waco, her daughter Kyanah Trevino of Lubbock, her son Rodger Trevino, Jr. and wife Kimberly of Plainview. Son Miguel Romero III of Tulia, her son Miguel Thomas Romero and wife Erika of Plainview, her daughter Amber Romero and husband Tanner Favila Romero of Plainview. Three Sisters Rosa Gomez of Tulia, Maria Inez Tovar of San Angelo, Maria Elena Saldana of Tulia, One Brother, Ricardo Basaldua of Mission Tx.

She is survived by 19 Grandchildren and 27 Great Grandchildren.
