Jason Lance Johnson (Plainview)

Jason Lance Johnson, 50, of Plainview passed away on December 13, 2025. A come and go celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview, Texas. The community is invited to join the celebration of life and share memories. No public visitation is scheduled. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Jason was born in Greenville, Texas to Dale and Linda Johnson. He grew up in Perryton, Texas, graduating from Perryton High School in 1993. Jason had a career including 15 years with the Plainview Herald, where he concluded his tenure as the Manager of the Plainview Herald, Muleshoe Journal, and Canyon News. He then spent several years as the Sales Director of nQativ, an accounting and payroll software company based in Lubbock. He then returned to Plainview to serve as the Associate CEO for Central Plains Center. It was during that time he completed a Master's in Business Administration from Western Governors University. He became the City of Plainview's Director of Finance in November of 2024. He was also a member of the local Lion's Club. He had an unparalleled passion for music, appreciating every genre from rock to classical, jazz to country and you could always find him with a playlist that reflected the rhythm of his heart. He celebrated life through sound and brought his friends and family together with the power of song. His cat Mia was a loving companion and Jason has always been a big animal lover. He had an endless love of all arts and his new blooming passion was always looking for the next adventure from fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, taking dance lessons, gardening and spending quality time with his family, and we can't forget the Eagles. Jason was so loved and will be missed by many friends and family.

Jason is survived by his wife, Erica Johnson of Plainview, Texas; Son, Blake Johnson of Plainview, Texas; Father and Stepmother, Dale and Barbara Johnson of Perryton, Texas; Brother, Cody Richardson of San Marcos, Texas; Stepsister Mindy Trujillo and husband Paul of Arveda, Colorado; Sister in Law, Ruth Johnson of Rockwell, Texas; Step daughter Malori and grand daughter Olivia "lil'bit" Garcia of Lubbock; Step son Nathaniel Gonzales of Plainview; Niece Alyssa Garcia and his "precious" great niece Laney, and great nephews Ethan and Ean; Mother-in-law Lena Keeth of Tulia, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jason is preceded in death by his Mother, Linda Johnson; Brother, Andy Johnson; Grandparents, Johnny and Gene Erwin; Boss and Effie Johnson.
