Hale Center Texas – Reverend Joe Arturo Castillo, 68 of Hale Center, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Thursday September 9, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Church of the Valley in Hale Center with Israel Flores officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday September 13, 2021 at Church of the Valley. Joe was born on July 1, 1953 in Rio Hondo, Texas to Lucas Castillo and Tiburcia Alvarez Castillo. Joe grew up in Hale Center where he attended Hale Center High School. He met the love of his life Josie Cantu in 1973 at Classic Casino in Plainview. One dance led to 48 years of marriage. Joe worked for 23 years then retired from Hale Center Feed Yard. In 1974 Joe and Josie were blessed with their first son Joe Jr. Three years later they were blessed with a daughter Cynthia. Joe was also blessed with 6 grandkids Zakkary, Jason, Jaci, Jeremy, Jocylin and Jadrian. And 5 great grandchildren. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. Joe was also known to many as gramps. Joe loved to watch his grandkids play sports. He was their number one fan and supporter. Joe answered his calling into the ministry in 1985. He served at Church of the Valley for 36 Years. He Served in any and every capacity. Joe was a great pillar and a true example of what a believer in Christ was. He was a true leader and inspired many. Joe fought the good fight of faith and received his crown. Joe was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He always had a smile on his face and always showed grace and compassion. He was a loving husband, father, brother, gramps, and minister. He will truly be missed by all who loved him. His pride and joy include his wife Josie Castillo of Hale Center; his children, Joe Jr and Stephanie of Hale Center, Cynthia and husband Adrian Marquez of Hale Center; his brothers, Carlos Castillo of Dallas, Lorenzo Castillo of San Luis Potosi, sisters; Dominga De Torrez, Ventura Castillo, Acasia Castillo and Maria DeLa Luz Castillo all of San Luis Potosi; his grandkids, Zakkary, Jason, Jaci, Jeremy, Jocylin, and Jadrian and 5 great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents; Lucas and Tiburcia Castillo, brother; Pedro Castillo and In-Laws; Leo Poldo and Mary Ann Cantu. Mr. Castillo will be available for viewing at Church of the Valley in Hale Center, Texas.
