John W. Kimbrew (Plainview)

John passed away on his birthday, Monday, July 31, 2023. Visitation will be at Kornerstone Funeral Home in Plainview, Texas, Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 12:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. He was predeceased by his parents, Pat and Mary Jane Kimbrew. He is survived by his first cousins, Robert Kimbrew (Rae), Guy Bryant Whitfield (Janet), and a number of other cousins. He was also survived by Greta Sepulveda who considered him to be like a father, Ronny, Ashley, Zach, Jake, Ashton, and Ben Taylor who called him Uncle John, Linda Romine who was his best friend and the love of his life, and many other friends. John graduated from Plainview High School and North Texas University. He retired after 30 years with Reynolds Metals and then worked in real estate. He was a veteran of the Coast Guard, a 20-year member (and previous president) of the Rotary Club of Wimberley, and a member (and previous president of the board) of the Wimberley Chamber of Commerce. He also volunteered at the Wimberley Visitors Center and Market Days. John accepted Jesus as his Savior at nine years of age and was a member of First Christian Church, San Marcos. He was a kind and thoughtful man and will be missed by many.
