Tulia, Texas – Jonathan Ray Espinoza “Espi”, 39 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
Jonathan was born on December 4, 1982 in Tulia to Priscilla (Macias) Sanders and raised by Boyett Sanders.
Jonathan had a heart of gold and the biggest smile in the room which he inherited from his mother and nana. He was a role model growing up to his little brothers and cousins. Jonathan or “Espi” was known an avid cross-country runner in High School. He went to Australia at the age of the age of 16 and placing 3rd in the International Sports Specialist Incorporated Cross-Country Track Meet. He was also a lover of nature and a great outdoorsman. He loved to swim, fish, and play golf. He collected antiques and could make art out of anything. He worked countless hours as a teen through adulthood to become an amazing plumber at his grandparent’s business “Sanders Plumbing” and was known for being a very talented artist. He made so many fun memories with his brothers and cousins that will be cherished forever. Johnathan hand many bumps in life that never took away from the steady love he had for his children Madison and Ryker Espinoza.
He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Priscilla Sanders; his grandparents, Willie and Mary “Nana” Macias.
He is survived by his children, Madison Espinoza of Nashville, TN and Ryker Espinoza of Winslow, Ar.; his beloved dog Zara; his father, Boyett Sanders of Tulia; his brothers, Levi Sanders and wife Ashley of Amarillo and Anthony Sanders and wife Amanda of Amarillo; his nieces and nephews, Zayden, Kaybre, Remi, Everett and Sawyer all of Amarillo; his paternal grandparents, James and Pat Sanders of Tulia; his father, Mario Espinoza, Jr. and wife Monica Joe; his paternal grandfather, Mario Alberto Espinoza of Happy TX; his paternal grandmother, Olivia Espinoza of Showlow, AZ., his brothers and sisters, Lyndsi Espinoza, Josh and Danielle Fox of Arkansas, Courtney McKibben and husband Eli of Amarillo, Chesley Johnson and husband Heath of Amarillo and Melissa Espinoza of Uvalde, TX.
