Jonathan Wade James (Plainview)

Jonathan Wade James son of Lester Wade (Bobby) James, Jr and Irma Ruth Dodds was born in Ft Worth Texas on December 12. 1964. He passed away in Denton, Texas on February 19. 2026.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Lester Wade and Laura Clark James and maternal grandparents C.L. and Katherine Harris Dodds.

Survived by Katy Dryden (Bob) of Plainview, two nieces Alyse Lackey (Jon) of Plainview and Ellyn Anthony (Ben Wylie) of Bloomington, Indiana. One nephew, James Anthony (Natasha) of Amarillo. Seven grandnieces and one grandnephew. Maternal Aunt, Jeanette Dodds Shepler of Wichita, Kansas. Along with a large extended family of cousins and others extending from Parsons, Kansas throughout the country.

Wade was a 1982 graduate of Plainview High School. He attended Wayland Baptist University and Texas Tech University. While at Tech, he began flying lessons. Ultimately, he became a private and commercial pilot as well as an Instructor. He had a lifelong love for flying and seemed happiest in the air. He loved the beauty and culture of Hawaii, living there for several years, but ultimately returned home to Texas.

A family gathering is planned this Summer in Parsons, Kansas. No local service is planned, please remember Wade in your own way. Wade treasured his many dogs throughout his life, if you would like to remember him by donation, Plainview Humane Society is suggested or the charity of your choice.
