Jose B. Gonzalez, 93, of Plainview passed away Saturday, December 13th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 19th, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father George Poonely officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park.
A rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Jose was born on March 16th, 1932 in Rocksprings, Texas to Gabriel M. and Emma (Barrera) Gonzalez.
He married Eloisa Cordova on March 11th, 1954 in Rapid City, S.D.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers; Rene Gonzalez and Hector B. Gonzales and two sisters; Graciela Gonzalez and Enriqueta Garcia.
He is survived by one daughter; Graciela Enriquez of Plainview, TX.; three sons; Jose A. Gonzales, Randy Gonzales and wife Susanna of Rocksprings, TX., Gerald Gonzales and wife Hilda of Plainview, TX.; two brothers; Robert Gonzales of Belton, TX. and Gabriel B. Gonzales and wife Maria of Plainview, TX.; twenty one grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren.
Jose loved his wife, Eloisa deeply, and the two enjoyed traveling together. He had a true passion for truck driving and took great pride in life on the open road. When he wasn’t driving, he found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, and friends laughing, talking and simply being together.
Music was another love Jose enjoyed. He also made many dear friends at El Tenampa Restaurant, a place where he shared laughter stories and good times.
Jose will be remembered for his devotion to his wife, his love for his family, and his hard work, and the friendships he built wherever he went. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family and friends who carry his memory forward with love
