Joy Ann Hurt (Tulia)

Joy Ann Hurt, 82, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 31, 2026 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Lamar McBride officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

She was born on May 5, 1943, in Madill, Oklahoma, to Joy and Ora Nellie Johnson. Joy married Robert "Bobby" Hurt on February 3, 1968, and they shared 49 wonderful years together until his passing on January 11, 2017.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joy and Ora Nellie Johnson; her husband, Robert "Bobby" Hurt; her infant daughter, LaTonya Ann Anderson; two sisters, Lorene Sanders and Betty Hurt; one brother, Larry Wayne Johnson.

She is survived by one sister, Gwen Mays of Kingston, Oklahoma and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
