Juan was born January 12, 1951 in Plainview, TX. Juan (Johnny) was one of the beloved children of Pioquinto and Francisca Rodriquez also life long residents of Plainview. Johnny graduated from Plainview High and then worked in the Plainview area for most of his life. Johnny was physically handicapped because of his very poor vision, hearing and speech. However, this didn’t keep Johnny from being productive. He worked for The Hamby Company, for several years. He also worked for the City of Plainview with the Public Works division. Juan was an unwavering Dallas Cowboy fan. Juan’s ritual of watching games was to put on his Dallas Cowboys clothing, go to his room and close the door. Other people didn’t have to be watching the game to know if the Cowboys were winning. If they were winning you could constantly hear Johnny’s yelling, but if they were losing there would be total silence from his room. If they won he would come out of his room boasting of the win and showing off his Cowboy clothing. If they lost he would not come out of his room for a while, and when he did no sign of Cowboy clothing. When his mother passed in 2004, he went to live with his sister, Hilda in Sherwood, AR. While in Arkansas, for many years, he worked with a company that did packaging for Maybeline products, until he retired in 2021. Johnny never let his disability get him down, he always enjoyed life, his joy was being around family especially at family events.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Pioquinto and Francisca Rodriquez, his sisters, Ida Chico, Belinda Sanchez and his brother Manuel Rodriquez.
He is survived by his two sisters, Hilda Rosales and husband Martin of Sherwood, AR and Mary Lou Canales of Victoria, TX. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews who lived with him for many years, Lukie Rosales, of Little Rock, AR, Louie Rosales of Little Rock, AR and Yuri Chico of Perryton, TX, in addition numerous other nieces and nephews.
