Justin McCarty (Plainview)

Justin M. McCarty, 45, was born July 3, 1978 in Plainview, Texas and passed away in Dallas, Texas on October 3, 2023.  He graduated from Plainview High and completed several years of college.

Memorial services will be held in Fort Worth, October 21, 2-4 p.m. at Robertson Mueller Harper Funeral Services, 1500 8th Avenue, arrangements by Simple Cremation.  Burial will be October 28, 2 p.m., at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview, Texas.

Justin worked in the food industry as a waiter.  He was a gifted artist.  His work sold into private collections in Texas and Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael M. McCarty; grandparents, Maurice and Mary McCarty; aunt, Joan McCarty; and cousin, Kimberly Myrick.  

He is survived by his “parental unit”, as he called his mom and stepdad, Jo and Gary Britt; brother, Corey (Judith) McCarty, children Brooke (Hunter), Austin, Preston, Barron, Harper;  sister Carey (Mike) Self, children Lainey and Callen; stepsister Bonnie (Wes) Joines, and children Elizabeth and Catherine; stepbrother James Britt; uncle Ronnie McCarty; aunt Paula (Ricky) Sisemore; cousin Kristy Sisemore Bechtold, sons Logan and Justin; Joey Myrick, children Luke, Andrew, and Sarah; great-aunt Joyce McBride, Helen Pair, Bonnie Gaston; and stepcousins Sunny (Michael) DuMont and Barry (Mo) Yarbrough.

He leaves behind an important and large host of friends.  Anyone who knew Justin was a recipient of his big heart.  He would drop everything to help a friend.  He delighted in making you laugh.  We have gratitude and thankfulness for all his friends and their large part in his life.  There are no words to express our deep love and appreciation.

We leave you a message from Justin he recently shared.  “…appreciate all of the small blessings…and not waste anymore time.  Our Lives are short.”

He was like a Phoenix, always rising from the ashes, except the last time.
