Larry Vale Gould (Plainview)

Larry Vale Gould, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and lifelong resident of Plainview, TX, passed away on October 8, 2026 at the age of 86. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview with a visitation to follow.

Larry was born on September 10, 1940, to Otho and Alma Berdie Gould in Hale County, TX. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1959 and attended Lubbock Christian College. Larry worked for W.R. Grace Agriculture Chemicals for over twenty years and finished his career working for the City of Plainview where he retired as the City Inspector and Code Enforcement Officer. Larry coached Little League baseball and Tiger League football for several years and loved to play golf in his younger days. In his later years he found a new hobby in playing cards with “the card guys” on a weekly basis.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jerrell Gould and Buddie Williams, his son-in-law Donnie Ballard, and his stepson Jeff Cox. He is survived by his wife Linda, his children Jeff (Lisa) of Coppell, TX and Valerie Ballard of Dumas, TX, and step-children Brent (Lawasia) Cox of Longview, TX, Tammy (Len) Sanmann of Weatherford, and Deanna (Mark) Matthews of Longview, Tx. Together they have 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Larry is also survived by his sister-in-law of 65 years Jolene Gould Barton, her sons, and their families.

The family owes a debt of gratitude to Dr. Lara and Vital Caring Hospice for providing wonderful care to Larry and the family in his final days.
